Advanced Training: register with RACP by 28 February (first half or whole year) or 31 August (second half).
Positions at accredited hospitals are applied for directly.
BPT application typically from PGY2. FRACP Written Examination must be passed during BPT; Clinical Examination completed before or during Advanced Training.

Compulsory for every trainee, and best done inside Basic Training rather than carried into Advanced Training.
During Basic Training
Dual training produces a physician qualified in both general medicine and another specialty, and take-up is increasing. It runs through the multi-specialty training route that also covers joint, conjoint and post-Fellowship training.
