About intoSET
Built by a team of Australian junior doctors.
The team
We are a team of junior doctors who are going through, or have recently been through, specialty training applications in Australia. Like most applicants, we each spent months trying to work out what a competitive portfolio actually looked like — trawling through college documents, forum threads, and word-of-mouth advice that varied depending on who you asked.
We built intoSET because the information exists, it's just scattered. The scoring rubrics are public. The accredited training sites are listed. The application windows are published. intoSET pulls it together so you can spend your time building your portfolio rather than trying to find out what's in it.
How the scoring works
intoSET's scoring engine is based on publicly available selection criteria published by Australian specialty colleges. Every criterion traces to official college documentation. Wherever a college publishes exact point values, the calculator uses them verbatim; where a college publishes criteria without point values, the weights are intoSET's approximation — and the calculator labels those clearly as indicative.
Every calculator names the college document it scores against, with a link, on both the question and results screens — so you can check any criterion at its source rather than taking our word for it.
